2011 Mazda 5

Mazda Motor Corporation will hold the world premiere of The All-new Mazda 5 (known as the Mazda Premacy in Japan) during the press days of the 2010 Geneva Motor Show on March 2 and 3, 2010. Embracing the Nagare design dynamic and elegant, the new Mazda 5 CO2 emits about 15 percent less than the current model, thanks to "Mazda i-stop" idling stop system, a gasoline direct injection and other technologies. European sales of all new Mazda 5 will begin in the fall of 2010.

The new Mazda 5 features an emotional design that combines elegance with a dynamic spirit. Mazda will be the first production model to fully adopt the Mazda Nagare (which means "flow" in Japanese) design, inspired by the beauty of the commonplace in nature. Nagare design has appeared in certain elements of the new production models and previously evoked through a series of concept cars. The redesigned Mazda 5 achieves excellent aerodynamic characteristics with an excellent drag coefficient and the balance of lift. In order to satisfy a broad customer needs, it also offers a high level of functionality with two sliding doors and rear multi-seat arrangements. This includes a Karakuri seat of the second row center which can be converted into a versatile storage space. With a smooth ride and sporty, the new Mazda 5 responds precisely to the driver's orders, allowing the whole family to travel in comfort and safety.

The new Mazda 5 cuts in CO2 emissions by approximately 15 percent compared with the model it replaces and provides a more comfortable driving performance characteristics of linear and smooth. It is now one of the most eco-friendly minivans of its kind in Europe.

The new Mazda 5 green credentials are enhanced by other propulsion systems available, including a gasoline engine 1.8-liter mated to a six-speed manual transmission.
