Kia Motors Corporation held the world premiere of his new Kia Optima D-segment saloon in 2010 New York International Auto Show. Arriving in Kia showrooms in the United Kingdom in 2011, the Kia Optima continues to design-led transformation, while revealing a completely new design language and surprising to Kia, highlighted by a dynamic and functional profile that conveys confidence and sporting elegance from every angle. Kia's new saloon will be called 'K5' in Korea and 'Optima' in all markets.
![]() Designed at Kia studies in Frankfurt, Germany and Irvine, California, the new Kia Magentis is longer, wider and lower than the Magentis which replaces and builds on an entirely new platform that enables medium to the size and distinctive proportions, while providing a unique picture for the global design team Kia from the pen of a vehicle that is different from everything else in its segment. The new Kia Optima high performance projects yet elegant image, with its unique shape and elegant approach based on Kia Motor's philosophy of creating dynamic vehicles that evoke passion. Its striking bold grille features Optima Kia signature that is flanked by projector headlights. The all-new Optima exterior offer numerous standard features including dual exhaust, solar glass and indicators on the mirrors. Depending on the level of finish, fog lights, heated exterior mirrors, exterior chrome or body-colored door handles, along with alloy wheels of 17 inches and 215/55 R17 tires will also be available.

Inside, all-new Kia Optima creates an immediate sense that this is a car to drive. The instrument panel has a contour to the driver to suggest a cockpit feel, with precise indicators and controls to a sporty overall experience without sacrificing comfort or livability. Paddle shifters behind the steering wheel (standard on automatic versions outside North America) to convey that Kia Optima is built for people who are passionate about driving their cars. A great console with a short shifter is added to the atmosphere of the flight deck, while an optional panoramic glass roof provides an open-air feeling.
![]() For Europe and North America, voice-activated navigation system with seven-inch screen, will be combined with the operation of the audio system to improve the car audiophile, or those seeking the latest technology for superior quality of experience modern driving. The Kia Optima is built on an entirely new platform. Optima low, the tilt position and powerful is reinforced by the total length of 4845 mm - an increase of 45 mm in the previous model - maximum width of 1830 mm and wheelbase of 2795 mm, an increase of 75 mm and has a low ground clearance for improved aerodynamics and reduce drag, increase fuel efficiency. Outside Europe Kia Magentis is available with six all-new Theta II engine of the family (by market), with the first application of Kia GDI technology and up to 278 hp. In keeping with the philosophy of engineering security Kia, the all-new Optima will have a high level of standard safety features. The equipment includes six airbags (dual front airbags, seat mounted side airbags and side airbags full length of the curtain), active front head restraints, side-impact door beams, height adjustable front seat belts with pretensioners and force limiters, three-point safety belts for all seating positions, Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children (LATCH), and available in Europe and North America, a tire pressure monitoring (TPMS). Security systems driving the Kia Optima include antilock brakes (ABS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), traction control (TCS), Brake Assist System (BAS) and Hill Assist Control (HAC) - depending on the market. |
