Kia introduced the new generation Sorento, a model that will arrive later this year and growing in length about the current generation, as well as being lower. Because of this and other changes, like monocoque platform and the possibility that non-reductive carries, its concept is now changing, with more to be focused to a crossover SUV. With 900,000 units sold across the globe this SUV, the new model, bigger and with a clear commitment to quality, is facing a new stage with a more modern and futuristic.

As confirmed by the company, the new Sorento incorporates a monocoque chassis. This new platform is marked by an increase in exterior dimensions, a length of 4685 mm (9 cm longer), a width of 1,885 mm (2 cm above) and a height of 1,710 mm (2 cm less). The wheelbase is 2,700 mm. The height of the suspension has been lowered by 10 mm, with a center of gravity closer to the ground, namely 54 mm lower.

According to Kia, one of the signs of identity of the new generation of this SUV is the possibility to host up to seven passengers inside.These seats are arranged in three rows of seats. The boot capacity may vary depending on the operation of these rows. In this way, seven-seat configuration in the volume is 258 liters, using the first and second row, the volume amounts to 1047 liters, while if only use the front seats, luggage capacity rises to 2052 liters. According to Kia, the new Sorento highlighted by an increased sense of perceived quality of the elements that make up the carrier.

The new Kia Sorento will be available with four engines, three petrol and one Diesel. The latter, of new development, which will be chosen in Spain. It is propelled by a turbocharged 2.2 liter 4-cylinder in-line, 197 hp (170 hp compared to the current 2.5 CRDi) and 435 Nm (44.37 mkg). This machine can be combined with two new gearboxes and manual six-speed automatic. In other markets, the Kia Sorento also be offered with three petrol engines: a 3.5 V6 277 hp, a 2.7 V6 165 hp and 174 hp from a 2.4.

As for types of traction, the new Kia Sorento may be combined with two-wheel drive or four-wheel-drive version with 4WD. For this new generation is also available on the HAC and DBC system (stands for control of ups and downs in attendance, which automatically limits the speed at 8km / h). Regarding equipment, the Kia Sorento and the system will incorporate elements of the vehicle keyless entry, engine start button on, the parking aid system with camera, browser and panoramic glass roof.
