Jaguar's Fighting 911 XE Details Surface

Jaguar XE will be set to take on the Porsche 911, and Jaguar will be based on flexible architecture. This is the same skeleton that will support the XF, XK, and all the new XJ. The latter takes its debut in Frankfurt this year.

The Jaguar XE should be a larger version of the XF, and could be the successor to long-canceled Jaguar F-Type project. But do not expect an identical match to the F-Type. Since the concept debut, the safety of pedestrians have been implemented rules that make an illegal copy straight to the street. Instead, try a design that hints of the Jaguar of the past, while being lower to the ground than the Jag XJ.

 


A few different engine choices were tossed around, including the 385 hp naturally aspirated 5.0-liter AJ-V8. Fitted with a compressor, which car to 510hp, more than enough to bring a 0-60 mph time of 4.0 seconds. Even the kick is the 3.0-liter V6 diesel, tuned to 272 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque. With this engine, Jaguar is looking for one of the best scenery in the world, offering 35 mpg and a 0-60 mph time of six seconds.

Look for Jaguar XE to come in around $ 80 - $ 90000, and to become a direct competition to the Aston Martin V8 Vantage and Porsche 911. The new Jaguar XE should honor the 50th birthday of the Jag E-Type, with an introduction at the Geneva Motor Show 2011.
