Jaguar would be submitting its new super at the latest by 2012. But this was not just simply a rumor and a dream that many had in mind (the return of xj220). Unfortunately xj220's arrival was only a guess of what was being signed up to, because in reality is not only more than a new sports model, but one that is below the XK. This is called XE (Cabriolet), and C-XE (Coupe). 

The XE was designed in collaboration with Lotus (only a few mechanical parts), as it did formerly Jaguar XKR with, which helped to hone the chassis and other details. But also talk that the signing of legendary competition (Lotus) could join the new XE in their plants, which would be an event for both brands. But as happened before (with the assumption xj220), this can only be an assumption, and an idea that could have Lotus. It remains to be seen.

The new model is coming, is a variant that Jaguar should have taken long ago. But Ford is only responsible for developing new sedans and platforms for the signing, and non-sport (the last was the new XK). But now it seems that things will change, and for the better. Surely this will be the first sports to submit under Tata, as it still may be some hope of seeing a new xj220 (one can still dream).
