Due to decrease the weight of the two-wheel drive model, the Acura RDX is to improve fuel economy on the SH-AWD model, resulting in an improvement of 2 mpg in the city and on the road.

While the Acura RDX sporting chassis remains the same, the 2010 model offers revised braking system components that they feel better and offer greater durability. The Acura RDX is equipped with a turbocharged 2.3-liter DOHC 16-valve inline four-cylinder engine incorporating computer-controlled "intelligent" i-VTEC ® intake / exhaust valves that offers improved performance over a wide power. The heart of the Acura RDX is the performance of your variable flow turbo (VFT) that delivers an unusually broad power with virtually no delay in throttle response. The turbocharger works in concert with i-VTEC ® to deliver excellent acceleration and efficiency while driving in a variety of speeds. Acura's exclusive Super Handling All-Wheel Drive ™ (SH-AWD ™) system is available on the Acura RDX, helping to maximize available traction while improving handling balance and responsiveness in a variety of climatic conditions. SH-AWD ™ distributes optimum torque not only between the front and rear axles but also between left and right rear wheels and at the same time being able to overdrive the rear wheels. The guidance system of direct torque control vectoring used to help reduce understeer thus enhancing steering accuracy and increasing the total capacity of the curves.

New for 2010 is two-wheel drive version of Acura RDX, which offers a lighter vehicle weight, improving fuel economy and lower purchase price. The RDX 2WD front wheel drive layout uses a drivetrain, but retains the same exceptional chassis and driving dynamics for the Acura RDX is known.
